James A. "Jimmy" Tune

James A. "Jimmy" Tune, 80, of Green River passed away Aug. 1, 2018, at George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden, Utah surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Oct. 5, 1937, in San Diego, the son of James David Tune and Daphne Jason Tune.

He attended school and graduated from Sweetwater High School in San Diego. Jimmy married Carmen Trujillo Sept. 12, 1975, in Las Vegas.

Their vows were later solemnized Dec. 2, 1980, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Green River by Carmen's brother, Rev. Patrick E. Trujillo.

Jimmy was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1957-1961. He retired as a sergeant. He also served in the Active Guard Reserve two years following.

He had been employed at Stauffer Chemical as an instrument tech until his retirement in 1993, after working 30 years.

Jimmy was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge, V.F.W., and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Green River.

His interests included rock hunting, wood working, fishing, hunting, the outdoors, boating with his friends and most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Carmen of Green River; his sister-in-laws Carmen Trujillo of Rock Springs and Jenny and husband Nelson Sanchez of Tucson, Ariz .; his brother-in-laws Archbishop Patrick E. Trujillo and wife Ilyia of North Bergen, N.J., and Pete Trujillo and wife Francis of Cheyenne; his sons Erin Tune and wife Teresa of Gillette and Carlos L. Cordova and wife Linda of Rock Springs; daughters Nicole Calvert and husband David of Rock Springs and Deborah Cordova of Denver, Colo .; brothers Kenneth Danley and wife Patty of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Paul Zolezzi and wife Mary Ann of San Bernardino, Calif .; sisters Janine Ralston of Riverside, Calif., and Nora Lopez of San Diego, Calif ,; grandchildren Brady Tune, James Tune, Kimberly Tune, Christine Tune, Cheyenne Regulski, Stephen Regulski, Anthony Cordova and Jami Cordova; great-grandchildren Dominic, Azaylee, Connor, Lucas, Caeden, Haven, Cayden, Elizabeth, Reagen, Camryn, Keian, Anthony Jr. and Alivia; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Patrick and Stella Trujillo, grandparents, his brothers Charley Tune and William Tune, his son Eric Tune and brother-in-law Nester Trujillo.

A Mass of Christian burial with military honors will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 900 Hitching Post Drive in Green River. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
