Utah Jazz hosts basketball clinic

Green River’s kids have a chance to up their basketball game under tutelage from a former Utah Jazz player Thursday.

The Green River Parks and Recreation Department will host the free basketball clinic hosted by Bryon Russell at the Green River Recreation Center at 5 p.m., and will last approximately an hour. Russell will lead participants through various drills and competitions.

Russell, 46, was a small forward drafted to the Utah Jazz in 1993, playing for the team from 1993 to 2002. He played in back-to-back NBA Finals in 1997 and 1998 and played every game from 1997-2000. During the course of his career, he scored 6,663 points, recorded 2,914 rebounds and 1,085 assists.

No registration is necessary and both parents and spectators are welcome to attend as well.
