10 Green River residents arrested in meth bust

Ten Green River residents were arrested as part of an methamphetamine ring investigation throughout Southwest Wyoming and Utah.

According to a release from the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation focused on a Green River-based drug trafficking group the sheriff’s office claims was loosely organized and involved the transportation, distribution and use of methamphetamine. Detectives with the office’s Sheriff’s Narcotics and Arrest Group, along with agents from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation’s Southwest Enforcement Team, started investigating the organization December 2016.

A Thursday morning bust resulted in three search warrants issued in Green River and Rock Springs and 25 arrests in throughout Green River, Rock Springs, Fort Bridger and Evanston.

The Green River Police Department, along with its Special Weapons and Tactics team, assisted in the warrants and arrests.

Green River residents arrested were:

Darcy Gene Akin, 60, of Green River, charged with alleged delivery of methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver meth.

Michael Telesforo Flores, 38, of Green River and Midvale, Utah, charged with alleged conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.

Jarrod Scott Morrison, 40, of Green River, charged with alleged conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.

Jonathan Wesley Mortimer, 35, of Green River, charged with alleged conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.

Kathy Jean Moskovita, 55, of Green River, charged with alleged conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.

Douglas Evan Myers, Jr., 29, of Green River, charged with alleged conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.

Curtis Craig Ness, 45, of Green River, charged with alleged conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.

Erik Duane Pecheny, 32, of Green River, charged with alleged conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.

Zachariah Newton Strange, 36, of Green River, charged with delivery of methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.

Lance Lee Winders, 36, of Green River, charged with conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine.
