Lora Kay Knight

Lora Kay Knight, 59, of Green River, passed away Dec. 1, 2016 at her home. A longtime resident of Green River, Lora died following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1957 in Denver, the daughter of Cecil Minkler Jr. and Roberta Wood. Lora attended schools in Denver and graduated from West High School in 1975.

She also attended Ricks College where she met her forever companion, Rodney Knight.

Lora married Rodney Knight in Tooele, Utah, April 16, 1977.

They were sealed in the LDS Manti Temple the following year on April 22, 1978.

After their marriage they settled down in Green River, where they raised their three daughters.

Lora was employed at Smith's Food and Drug for more than 15 years and she also had worked at the Pamida Department Store.

Lora was very family oriented. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved being outdoors and over the past few years she spent a lot of time geocaching with the kids. Some of her talents included being a wonderful seamstress, drawing, painting, crocheting, jewelry making and many other hand crafted items. She loved creating things and sharing them with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Rodney Knight of Green River; her parents Cecil and Roberta Minkler of Pahrump, Nev.; three daughters, Debra Casto and spouse Jason, Jennifer Holden and spouse Jeramie and Kimberly Martin, all of Green River; three brothers, Charles Minkler (Katie) of Colorado, Cecil Minkler III (Renee') of North Dakota and Paul Minkler and spouse Chris of Nevada; one sister, Karen Treft and spouse Jeff of California; seven grandchildren, Izabele, Alexis, twins Orianna and Savannah, Lucas, Payton and Mason; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ryan Martin.

Funeral services took place Dec. 7.

The family of Lora Knight respectfully suggests that donations in her memory be made to Hospice of Sweetwater County.
