Donald Thomas Newey

Donald Thomas Newey, 65,  of Green River passed away peacefully at his home Aug. 18, 2016. A longtime resident of Green River, Wyo., and former resident of Ogden, Utah, Newey died following a lengthy Illness.

Newey was born Jan. 10 1951 in Arlington, Va., the son of Donald H. and Mary Jane Newey.

Newey graduated from Ogden High School in 1969 and later from Stevens Henager College. 

He married his High School sweetheart Jacqueline Dee Fielding of Ogden July 7, 1970. They were happily married for 46 years. 

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. 

He was employed with the Union Pacific Rail Road for 40 years and retired in 2011. 

His interests included the love of motorcycles and was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club and member of the American Legion, VFW and Masonic Lodge. 

He was a proud family man and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Jacqueline Newey, of Green River. Daughter Heidi (Scott) Newey Rochester of Washington, Crystal (Brian) Fassett, and Son Donald H (Sarah) Newey, both of Green River. Brother Ronald (Glenda) Newey and Sister Janie (Greg) Edgingten, both of Ogden Utah. Grandchildren: Chase, Kylie, Zack, Aaron, Haylei, Daniel, Breanna, Elizabeth and Gracie. Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Mary Jane Newey, Brother Robert Newey, father in law and mother in law Darold and Darlene Fielding.

Following cremation, memorial services were conducted at Aug. 24, 2016, at Restoration Ministries, 518 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wy. Military Honors and inurnment were in the Veteran's Section of the Riverview Cemetery.
