Kids spend last days of summer at Splash Park

With school starting up, the Splash Park became a popular destination for kids looking to find ways to end summer on a fun note.

The Splash Park is the place where kids can go to have a blast while cooling down on hot summer days.

"The Splash Park is the most popular and used parks amenity we have," Director of Parks and Recreation Brad Raney said. "It has a constant stream of people enjoying it throughout the summer."

The park has been a community favorite since it was built in 2005. The Splash Park's construction began in March 2005 and was completed in June 2005. The construction cost around $160,000.

For more than 10 years, the park has been a popular destination for hot summer days.

Whether it be family gatherings, birthday parties or other get-togethers, the Splash Park is a top choice of venue in Green River.

"There is not a cost effective way to track every day usage but the Evers Park shelter is rented by far more than any other shelter in any of the city parks due to its proximity to the Spray Park," Raney said.

The Splash Park is also conveniently located next to Expedition Island, making it easy for visitors of the park to explore the island.

With nearby amenities such as horseshoe courts, park benches, picnic set ups and easy access to the river and Expedition Island, the location of the Splash Park allows plenty of activities for family fun.
