James Eugene Dyer

James Eugene Dyer, 73, of Green River, passed away Feb. 29, 2016 at his home. A longtime resident of Green River and former resident of New Windsor, Md., and Sardis, Ohio, Dyer died following a lengthy illness. 

He was born Oct. 15, 1942 in New Windsor, Md., the son of Robert and Theda Warner Dyer. 

Dyer attended schools in New Windsor, Md. 

He married Brenda Parker Dyer in Green River, May 24, 1984. 

Dyer was a United States Navy veteran.

He was a member of the American Legion, YAGR and NRA. 

Dyer was employed as a miner at T.G. Soda Ash for many years and recently enjoyed fellowship on his Christian blog. He wrote poetry and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. 

Survivors include his wife Brenda Dyer of Green River; four sons, James Kelly Dyer and wife Melinda of Freeland, Md., Marc Fisher and wife Leslie of Marietta, Ohio, Robert C. Dyer of Gillette, and Thomas Jacob Spero and wife Tara of Evanston; two daughters, Theda Dyer Merson of Taneytown, Md., and Tania Pittinger of Greensville, N.C .; brother Franklin Douglas Dyer of Westminster, Md .; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one aunt, Judy Hoff of Frederick, Md., and one uncle, John Warner of Santa Rosa, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Eric Dyer, who died in infancy. 

Following cremation, inurnment and military graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, at Riverview Cemetery in Green River. Condolences may be left at http://www.vasefuneralhomes.com.
