Patricia Gay Travis, 73 of Rock Springs, passed away Feb. 9, 2016 at the Solari Hospice in Las Vegas. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Travis died following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Nov. 19, 1942 in Cody, the daughter of the late James and Elaine Cox Osborne.
Travis attended schools in Powell and was a 1961 graduate of the Powell High School. She attended and graduated the Northwest Community College in Powell and obtained a associates degree in journalism.
She later attended the University of Wyoming for one year.
She married Charles J. Travis, Jr. in Powell Sept. 12, 1964.
Travis was employed at the Rock Springs Daily Rocket-Miner Newspaper for more than 35 years and was the office manager when she retired.
Her interests were gambling, fishing and watching television.
Survivors include her husband Charles J. Travis, Jr. of Rock Springs; brother Thomas Osborne and wife Alice of Musselshell, Mont .; sister Nancy Erstad and husband Larry of Las Cruces, N.M .; sister-in-law Gloria Osborne of Bellingham, Wash .; her lab Dakota; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dave Osborne. Following cremation, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Condolences may be left at http://www.vasefuneralhomes.com.
