Struggles continue for lady wolves

The Lady Wolves basketball team continue struggle as their season starts to wind down.

The girls lost both games in Natrona County last weekend, losing 66-42 to Natrona County High School Friday and 57-37 to Kelly Walsh Saturday.

Playing without the Lady Wolves’ point guard Taylor Stoeger due to injury, head coach Rick Carroll said the team had to play girls in other positions. However, despite that challenge, poor ball handing would haunt the Lady Wolves throughout the weekend.

“We just didn’t take very good care of the ball,” Carroll said.

Carroll said the team’s Achilles’ Heel was the number of turnovers they allowed. This, coupled with a low number of rebounds the team was able to secure created a number of scoring opportunities for their opponents throughout the weekend. While Carroll said the Lady Wolves played well defensively, the ball handling hurt them and resulted in the losses. Carroll said the team spent their first two practices working on ball handing. The team will travel to Evanston Thursday and will face Riverton at home Friday.
