Helen Ruth Hodges Scheneman

Helen Ruth Hodges Scheneman, 85, of Green River died suddenly at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City Jan. 31.

Scheneman worked as a nurse for more than 30 years. She also served as an officer and member of the Eagles for 35 years.

She is survived by six children, Brenda Brown O’Toole and Husband Bill of Marysville, Kan., Byron Brown and wife Kim of Hickmon, Neb., Cal Brown and wife Kelly of Portland, Texas, Brad Brown and wife Meigan of Granbury, Texas, Shelly Pierce of Marysville, Kan., and Mike Brown and wife Melanie of Waverly, Neb.; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Her surviving siblings are brothers Gary Hodges and wife Bette and Dick Hodges and wife Ann, all of Green River, and sister Marion Hodges of Big Piney.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kellie Brown, brothers Mark Hodges and Eldon Hodges, and her parents “Butch” and James Hodges.

A memorial service will take place Feb. 8 at the Eagles Club in Green River at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the D.A.R.E. Program at the Eagles Club.
