Janie Beth Hamner

Janie Beth Hamner, 71, Rock Springs, passed away Nov. 30, 2015 at her home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Table Rock, Hamner died following a sudden illness.

She was born on August 15, 1944 in Littlefield, Texas, the daughter of the late Louis Leslie Conner and Pauline Evelyn Vandiver.

Hamner attended schools in Amarillo, Texas and was a 1962 graduate of Tascosa High School.

She was employed as funeral director at Vase Funeral Home. She was an employee for the past 20 years.

She began her career at Vase as an ambulance dispatcher and through out the years became the secretary and later a funeral director.  

Hamner loved vacationing with her sister and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was an avid sports fan of Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. She also was an accomplished pianist.

Survivors include her significant other Frank Guerreroof Rock Springs; two daughters, Heather Hamner-Sweet and husband Clint of Rock Springs and Brittany Hamner-Gilbert  and husband Rowdy of Lubbock, Texas; sister Polly Conner-Temple and husband Peter of Westport, Conn .; five grandchildren Madison Roberson, Justice Hamner, Jayda Jones, Adyn Craddick, and Macyn Craddick; one great grandson Jaxon Ramos; one uncle, D.C. Vandiver of Phoenix.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of her life took place Tuesday.
