Hal Clyde Wood

Hal Clyde Wood, 71, of Green River, passed away Dec. 1, 2015 at his home. A longtime resident of Green River, Wood died following a sudden illness.  

He was born on Nov. 23, 1944 in Salt Lake City, the son of Clyde Quincy Wood and Beth Rhodes Wood.

Wood attended schools in Cheyenne and graduated from Cheyenne East High School in 1963.

He married Terry Lee McFarland Wood in Cheyenne on July 11, 1964.  

Wood was employed as a telephone tech for U.S. West for more than 30 years and retired in 2000.

For many years he was employed at the Vase Funeral Home.

His interests included helping others, he was the neighborhood go to man.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Sweetwater County Search and Rescue.

He was a devoted husband, dad, son and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Terry Lee Wood of Green River; two sons, Tim R. Wood and wife Maryjo and Tony J. Wood and fiance' Andrea Bost all of Rock Springs; one brother Alan Wood and wife Julie of Cheyenne; two sisters, Larae Rothe and husband Bob of Tucson, Ariz. and Sandy Seppie and husband John of Rock Springs; eight grandchildren Kayla Jo Wood, Skye Munoz, Holly Kofoed, Misty Wood, Mariah Wood, Kolter Powers, Melinda Powers, and Kurtis Bost; six great-grandchildren Mikayla Jo Wood, Kayden Munoz, Terrance Wood, Taylynn Munoz, Dustin Wood, and Dallin Ray Wood; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Wood and one nephew, Joe Seppie.

Following cremation, a celebration of his life took place Wednesday.
