Leola L. Kaumo

Leola L. Kaumo, 90, of Rock Springs, passed away Oct. 17, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, Kaumo passed away surrounded by her family.

She was born in Rock Springs on May 21, 1925, the daughter of Albert Carlton Carter and Delphia Shelton Carter.

Kaumo attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1943.

She married Leno Kaumo in Rock Springs July 10, 1944, and he preceded her in death Nov. 4, 1986.

Her interests included china painting, crocheting, knitting, watching “Dancing with the Stars,” “American Idol” and spending time with her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Leonard A. Kaumo and wife Sherri of Rock Springs; one daughter, Kristy Anselmi of Rock Springs; 11 grandchildren, Jon, Jacob and Joey Kaumo, Jenny Fann, Jaysha Eikanger, Jared James, Kalista Lacey, Jodi Barnum, Jackie Marvel, Kari Costantino and Karl Leno Kaumo; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Karl Leno Kaumo and Dr. Jerry Neil Kaumo and one grandson, Justin James.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m., Thursday at the LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar Street in Rock Springs. Bishop Cody Martinez will conduct the services.  Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Charles Anthony Barnum, Jacob Kaumo, Jacob Kaumo, Jr.,  Jonah Kaumo, Jared James, Joey Kaumo and Josh Eikanger.

Family will be receiving condolences at the home of Leonard Kaumo at 746 D Street in Rock Springs.
