Richard Allen Olson

Richard Allen Olson, 69, of Rock Springs, passed away Sept. 1, 2015.  A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Olson passed away suddenly.

He was born on July 20, 1946 in Conrad, Mont. the son of Elmer A. Olson and Marguerite P. Hansen Olson.

Olson attended Kelso High School in Washington.

He married Linda A. Rickard in Everett, Wash., in 1978.

Olson served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.

He worked as a machinist for Kauppi Wireline.

His interests included hunting, fishing, the outdoors, four-wheeling, bird hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include wife Linda of Rock Springs; five sons, Kenneth Allen Olson of Satsop, Wash., Richard Anthony Olson of Rock Springs, Timothy Elmer Olson of O'Fallon, Mo., Stephen Randall Olson of Casper and Ryan Ronald Olson of Rock Springs; sister Dru Pierce of Longview, Wash .; four grandchildren, Courtney Lynn, Monica Leeann, Ashton Ryan and Christian William; two nephews Terry and Michael and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
