Green River Main Street hosts open mic Sept. 11

With the completion of the Clock Tower Plaza, Green River Main Street seeks to utilize the space as a public gathering place.

One of their newest initiatives to promote the plaza is the new Downtown Rhythms and Rhymes event taking place at 6 p.m. Sept. 11. Jennie Melvin, director of the city’s Urban Renewal Agency and Main Street program, said she hopes the event will promote the plaza as a performance space.

The event will follow a format similar to the older Poetry Jams hosted by the Sweetwater County Library System.
