Phyllis Louis Janzen Perry

Phyllis Louis Janzen Perry, 61, passed away July 2, 2015 in Salt Lake City.

A longtime resident of Green River, Perry passed away following a brief illness.

She was born on Dec. 26, 1953 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., the daughter of the late Cecil and Beverly Janzen.

Perry attended schools in Wilson, N.Y. and Anaheim, Calif. She attended Westminster and Huntington Business College.

She served in the United States Army during peace time after college.

At the time of her passing, Perry had been working as a cashier at Smith's Grocery for more than eight years. She started work at Texas Gulf when she moved to Wyoming and continued working there as the company changed to TG and then FMC in the traffic department.

Her interests included history, Shakespeare and gardening. The most important part of her life was her daughter and grandchildren. She was involved in Scouts and was a Cub Master of Pack No. 312 for a number of years, very proudly earning a wood badge.

Survivors include daughter Betty Callahan and husband Jerry of Green River; brother Christopher Janzen of Casper; four sisters, Gail Thiemke of Green River, Diana Hadle and husband Steve of Manhattan, Kan., Sandra England of Casper and Susan Williams and husband Mike of Middleport, N.Y .; two grandchildren, Quynn Stover of Green River and Jeremiah Stover of Lyman; dearest friends, Tom and Joyce Collar of Lyman and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother B. Edward Janzen and nephew Robert Thiemke, Jr.

A celebration of life took place July 9.
