Green River senior Cole Verner placed first last weekend the Tournament of Champions in Vernal, Utah. Verner and his teammates will compete starting Friday at the annual Bill Thoman Memorial Wrestling Tournament. The tournament will feature 15 schools from four states.
This weekend, local fans will get a chance to see some amazing wrestling when 14 teams from four states join host Green River High School at the annual Bill Thoman Memorial Wrestling Tournament.
The two-day tournament will feature four pools of teams. Pool "A" will include Green River, Lander, Cheyenne South and Moffat County, Colo.
The Wolves will open Friday at 1 p.m. against Moffat County in the main gym at the high school. Green River will wrestle Cheyenne South at 2:45 p.m. and Lander at 4:30 p.m.
After the first three rounds, the teams will move into bracketed competition with round four...
