Raymond Ellis Price

Raymond Ellis Price, 73, of Green River, passed away Sept. 26 at the Deseret Health and Rehabilitation Center. A resident of Green River for the past three years and former resident of Delta, Utah, Price had been in ill health for the past 18 months.

He was born on August 12, 1941 in Kemmerer, the son of the late Ellis Clayton Price and Nora Whitaker Price.

Price attended school in Kanosh and Fillmore, Utah and graduated from Millard High School in 1959.  He also attended Southern College for one semester.

He married Cornelia Johanna Lourens Price in Kanosh, Utah on May 8, 2004.

Price was a United States Army veteran. He served from April 10, 1963 until March 27, 1965.

He was employed by Barney Trucking as a truck driver and retired in 2006. He was also a rancher. He worked hard and owned several businesses throughout his life.

Price was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Price traveled much of the United States and the world. He and his wife traveled several times to South Africa and was an avid outdoorsman.

He worked on oil rigs in Saudi Arabia and was in Germany during his United States Army tour of service. He loved telling stories about his children when they were small.  He loved his dog, cat and horses.

Survivors include his wife Cornelia "Corrie" Price of Green River; two sons, James Clayton Price of Rock Springs and Alex Ray Price of Green River; one daughter, Laura Marie Neher and husband Shawn of Green River; four brothers, Charles C. Price and wife DeeAnn Price of Daniel, Marvin Douglas Price and spouse Karen of Blackfoot, Idaho, Joseph Lowell Price of Afton and Lee Whitaker Price of Kanosh, Utah; one sister, Marianne Hunter and husband Jon of Spanish Fork, Utah; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Myranda, Alexandria, Bailey, Ivory and Jeremy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Paul J. Callaghan.

Military honors along with graveside services and interment took place today at the Daniel Cemetery in Daniel.
