Jacob Anglesey, once a highly regarded officer with the Green River Police Department, will go to prison. The Green River Chamber of Commerce had a major change-up in its staff late last week. According to a press release, Irene Parsons, who had worked as CEO of the camber since August, was no longer working at the Chamber as of Dec. 21. Lisa Herrera will be taking over Parsons’ duties during the interim. Parsons, who formerly worked for Sen. John Barrasso’s office, replaced Rebecca Eusek as chamber CEO when Eusek was hired to work for the Wyoming Business Council. “We wish her well in her new endeavors,” the chamber’s press release states....

The beginning of 2017 came with cold and snow, but that didn't stop Green River children from having fun. In January, students in Sweetwater County were enjoying going back to school after Christmas break. Green River seniors kicked off 2017 early last year with an exciting party and from that point on they experienced a lot of fun events. After ringing in the New Year, seniors at the Golden Hour Senior Center participated in the Lets Get Crafty class. In February, Green River residents were asked to support the Green River High School for its annual blood drive. Community members and adults alike waited patiently for their turn to donate. Last year, the city's residents donated 245 pints, while Rock Springs donated 256. More importantly though, 1,500 lives can be saved with the donated blood.
