    Things could not have started better last Friday night for the Green River High School boy’s basketball team. In their first game of the season, the Wolves jumped out to an early 18-9 lead in the first half, before Star Valley went on a 17 point run on their way to a 57-42 victory.     The Green River High School girl’s basketball team will look to get their first win of the season Thursday afternoon at the 20th annual Flaming Gorge Classic. The Lady Wolves will open the three-day tournament at 4:20 p.m. against Kemmerer High School.     While the score may not have gone the way they wanted, there was definitely no quit in the Green River Lady Wolves basketball team. Trailing 45 to 13 at the end of third quarter last Friday night against Star Valley, the Wolves put together their best quarter of the game and scored 13 points in the fourth of the 63-26 loss.     It was quite an end to the basketball season for the Lincoln Middle School eighth grade basketball team. Much like they had in football, the eighth grade “A” team finished the season undefeated and did so in thrilling fashion with a win over rival Rock Springs Junior High.     The Green River Middle School swim team capped off a remarkable season last weekend at the South Conference Meet. The team finished the season unbeaten after capturing first place at the meet that took place at the new Green River High School Aquatic Center. The team had a total of 358 points, finishing well ahead of Lyman who finished second with 244 points.     The Green River High School wrestling team didn’t take an easy route to start the 2014-15 season. The Wolves lost a 42-27 home duel to Uintah (Utah) High School. Green River won five of the 14 matches against the team whose season has been going for almost a month.
