The Green River High School Boys Swimming and Diving Team are off to a great start to their season, qualifying three swimmers for the state competition, which will take place in Gillette Feb. 26-27. The team took part in two meets in Gillette over the weekend, a relay competition and a pentathlon. Green River placed sixth in the relays, with a total 138 points. To start the weekend off right, Green River High School’s junior varsity basketball team won their first game of the season, against Star Valley. The score was 46-38. One of the Lady Wolves will take to the volleyball court next year as a Central Wyoming College Rustler. Senior Hattie Hix signed a letter of intent with Riverton's CWC last week to continue her volleyball career at the junior college level. This year, employees at the center wanted to make every resident's Christmas special. Golden Hour Senior Center will host its Christmas dinner Thursday. One dinner will take place at 11:30 a.m., while the other is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. Cost is $8 per person, which includes ham, au gratin potatoes, sweet potato soufflé, peas and onions, cranberry sauce, roll and red velvet cake. Several Green River High School Theater students received All-State recognition at the Wyoming State Drama competition. A couple weeks ago, students from all over the state traveled to Laramie to compete with more than 700 students. Tis' the season for giving in Green River. Mission at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center partnered with the Wesswick Foundation to bring some Christmas cheer on Friday. The center donated $300 worth of school supplies to Truman Elementary School as well as candy for each student. Every student also received a book for Christmas.
