    Employees working for the city of Green River will receive a monetary thank you from the Green River City Council later this month. The council voted unanimously to approve a tiered stipend for employees Tuesday night. Full-time employees will receive $1,200, while part-time employees with more than 1,000 hours worked during the year will receive $750, part-time employees with between 500 and 1,000 hours worked will receive $500 and employees with under 500 hours worked will receive $250.   • Train derails in GR Monday

    On Monday morning, while temperatures were in the 20s, eight cars derailed in the Green River yard. Kristen South, Union Pacific Railroad media relations director for the Wyoming area, said at about 9:45 a.m. eight cars derailed, but remained in an upright position. This means that although the cars did leave the track, they didn't flip onto the side or roll over completely. South said she did not know what the cars that derailed contained.   • Gas leak diverts traffic on Uinta

    Around noon last Thursday, traffic on Uinta Drive was diverted and two businesses were evacuated after a contractor hit a gas line. According to Darren Shepherd, Dominion Energy Wyoming spokesman, a contractor completing work near two businesses hit a one-way feed, 2-inch plastic gas line.     Lines of empty boxes filled the room at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Sunday afternoon.
