While mountain bikers hit the trails along the Wilkins Peak Trail System Saturday, a few children had a chance to participate in a bicycle rodeo at Scotts Bottom Nature Area. Deciding to donate a kidney wasn't a hard decision for one Green River woman. When Rachelle Morris found out her sister's friend Jesse Laughter may need a kidney transplant, she immediately said she would be willing to get tested and see if she was a match. The Green River Wolves football team started off the season with a close loss to Lander. Last Friday, Green River traveled to Lander to play its season opener and lost 10-7. After two running plays, the Wolves fumbled the ball on third down and gave the Lander Tigers excellent field position to start their first offensive series. He may be the new head coach for the Lady Wolves Soccer team, but everyone associated with the program already knows him. Chris Nielsen was officially named the Green River High School Lady Wolves soccer coach last week. Nielsen has been an assistant coach to the Lady Wolves for six years and ran the JV program during that time. The Lady Wolves swim team took advantage of swimming at their home pool and came out on top of eight other teams attending their meet. We’re happy to see the Green River City Council take an interest in prohibiting public vaping. We understand vaping, like smoking, is a personal choice and don’t hold it against residents who chose to do so. I was reading an editorial by Tom Salvino in the Subaru Drive magazine of all places. (Yes, we have a Subaru as our home.)
