    A statewide snowstorm brought several inches of snowfall to Sweetwater County Monday evening. According to Geri Swanson, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service office in Riverton, a weather observer in Green River reported receiving 8 inches of snow during the storm. So far, the area has received 15 inches of snow since the beginning of the month.   • Emergency management funded by grant

    A grant matched by Sweetwater County will continue to be used to fund two full-time Sweetwater County Emergency Management Agency positions. During the Sweetwater County Commissioners meeting Tuesday morning, the Commissioners unanimously approved a fiscal year 2018 Emergency Management Performance Grant agreement from the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security.     Residents living near West Flaming Gorge Way found themselves without water for a few hours Monday as city crews worked to repair a broken water main. According to Public Works Director Mark Westenskow, the breakage was reported at about 7:30 a.m., Monday morning.     Like anything, a 40-year-old building shows signs of wear. Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County is no exception. Sweetwater Memorial has a list of projects on its maintenance list. One of those at the top of that list is a project to upgrade the hospital’s heating and cooling system at a cost of approximately $3.25 million.     The Lady Wolves basketball team won on their own court against Jackson Saturday, but they lost on the road to Evanston. Both the Evanston and Jackson games were conference games, taking the Lady Wolves to 1-1 in the conference and 7-6 overall. The Lady are one of four teams in their quadrant, which includes Star Valley, Evanston and Jackson.     The Wolves wrestlers came home with an impressive first-place finish after competing in the Tiger Grizz Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho, over the weekend. The Wolves scored 223 points during the tournament, edging out Columbia High School, which scored 222 and Kuna High School rounding out the top three with 201.5 points.     The boys swimming and diving team continues to show their skills in a couple of smaller meets this weekend. On Friday the Green River High School Wolves swimming and diving team traveled to Lyman to compete against a handful of teams. They came in first at that meet.     A chance to play at home greatly benefited the Wolves when taking on the Jackson Hole Broncs Saturday.     On frigid, snowy days like Monday and Tuesday, a program at Golden Hour Senior Center helps check on homebound residents to ensure they’re safe.
