Guo Ning Mei, 89, of Rock Springs, passed away July 24, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Sage View Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Mei was born in Taishan City, Guang Dong Province, China, Oct. 26, 1928, the son of Zong Hong Mei and Yu Yin Ruan. Guo moved from China to Rock Springs in 1988.
He attended schools in China.
Guo married Ji Ai Huang in China in 1960.
He was a dishwasher for Lew's Family Restaurant for 15 years, retiring in 2005.
His interests were music, especially Cantonese opera, watching television, reading and studying Chinese medicine.
Mei is survived by his wife of 58 years Ji Ai Huang; two sons, Zhi Bin Mei and wife Caifeng Chen "Joyce" and Chang Mei and wife Mei Mei, all of Rock Springs; one daughter Sui "Susie" Leo and husband Mark of Green River; seven grandchildren; Sean Leo, Austin Leo, Alex Leo, Kevin Mei, Tony Mei, Michael Mei and Andy Mei; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Guo was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one nephew.
