Clarence J. (Jim) Harris

Clarence J. (Jim) Harris passed away May 23, 2018, following a brief illness, in Pocatello, Idaho, where he had resided for the past nine years. He was 86.

He was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Frontier, the only son of Clarence Goddard Harris and Marina Minnie Mecca. He attended Frontier grade school and graduated from Kemmerer High school with the class of 1950.

He joined the U.S.A.F. Feb. 13, 1951, where he served as a jet reciprocating aircraft mechanic on F-86 and B-36 bombers. He was stationed in Rapid City, S.D., and served overseas at Kimper AFB in Korea. He was honorably discharged Feb. 12, 1955.

He married Sandra S. Bixby March 8, 1958, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kemmerer.

He worked various construction jobs with Pipe Fitters Local 192.

He worked in maintenance at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Green River until his retirement in 2008.

They then moved to Pocatello, Idaho to be near grandkids and great-grandkids.

His hobbies included rock hunting, trips to Wendover, Nev., spending time with family and watching the Denver Broncos.

He was active in Shriner's, a past member of Mount Moriah Lodge No. 6 AF and AM in Green River and he was a charter member of the Green Bugs Korean Shrine in Rawlins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Sandy) Harris of Pocatello, Idaho; one daughter, Tammy (Gary) Resh, of Pocatello, Idaho; two sons, Kirk (Ali of Cheltenham, England) Harris and Bob Harris, both of Green River; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Resh) Mustos (Jason Chapman) of Pocatello, Idaho, Brian (Krista) Resh of Williston, N.D., Lacey (Fed) Hale-Perez of Cheltnham, England, and Ashley (Garet) Wood of Garland, Utah; nine great-grandchildren, Brooklynne and Addison Mustos, Brylee Jo Resh, Samuel Leyh, Harvey and Oscar Hale-Perez, Kinzlie, Rhet and Everlie Wood.

His wishes are cremation and a memorial service in Green River will take place at a later date.
