Clerk seeks 3rd term

The Sweetwater County Clerk seeks his third term in office.

Dale Davis, a Democrat, announced his intent to run for re-election Monday.

"It has been an honor to serve Sweetwater County," Davis said.

Davis said experience is essential to the office and has prided himself on bringing new technology to the office, as well as looking for way to improve services offered through the clerk's office. A new computer system installed in the clerks office has increased efficiency for the employees in the office. Using the previous software, Davis said employees would have to retype much of the information in a county document to update it. Now, clerks only need to update the specific information changing in the document. The clerk's office was also the first in Wyoming to offer e-recording, which allows the office to file records much faster. Davis said Sweetwater County's land records are online and available to anyone through a no-cost subscription to the service.

Davis said those improvements and others made during his eight-year tenure have benefitted both the office and residents within the county.

Davis said the clerk's office is unique as there are several departments within the office. he said he has working knowledge of all the functions of the different departments and has worked under two previous county clerks.

Davis has 27 years of experience working in the office and replaced Bobbi Bailiff in 2010 after she retired.

"I enjoy working with the public and in this office," Davis said.
