John (Johnny) Stephen (Steve) Romero

John (Johnny) Stephen (Steve) Romero died from complications of pulmonary fibrosis in Las Vegas. He died peacefully with his family around him.

Born in Cortez Colo., he served in the U.S. Army with Charlie Company, 198th Infantry in Vietnam. He moved to Denver, where he met Linda Arguello and they married in 1969. She preceded him in death in 1999. They had two daughters. In 2002, he married Anne Miller.

After moving to Green River, he worked at Texas Gulf as a ZA operator in the processing plant until it sold to FMC. He left FMC when he became ill in 2009.

He and Anne moved to Las Vegas in 2010.

He is survived by his wife Anne Romero; daughters, Stephenie Hughes, husband Dave and daughter Chantelle and Desiree Trujillo, her husband Will and their children Willie and Isabella; two step-sons and families and their five sons; two brothers, Anthony Romero and Nancy and Danny Romero and family; one sister, Terry Romero and her family. Also multiple extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Romero, his father Juan Estevan Romero and his mother Annie Romero.

Romero did not want his family traveling in winter weather. A memorial service will take place later this spring. He will be buried next to Linda at Riverview Cemetery in Green River.
