Chainey Clay Gunderson

Chainey Clay Gunderson passed away suddenly Sept. 4, 2017, in Grand Junction, Colo. He was born Feb. 11, 1981, to Clay Gunderson and Traci Herrman.  

He married Laura Shawcroft Nov. 25, 2006, and they were blessed with two amazing children.

He was a dedicated, loving and amazing father to Kyler and Ava Gunderson, the loves of his life.

Chainey was a happy-go-lucky person with a heart of gold who enjoyed life to the fullest. Always the jokester when there was laughter, you would find Chainey in the middle. He loved all kinds of gatherings especially with all of his family and friends who meant the world to him. He enjoyed camping, hunting; fishing and Denver Broncos football.

He is also survived by his sisters Season Gunderson and Kyllee (Matt) Sleck; brother Tyler (Kelsie) Herrmann; nephews and nieces Marcus, Brooklyn, Madison, Mia, Kelton, Taric and Ellie; grandparents Karla J. Gunderson and Pat Tryon; uncles and aunts Jacquie Gunderson, Randy and Roslyn Gunderson, Traci Wakefield, Page Gunderson, Drake and Heather Gunderson, Linda and Jim Miller, Ted and Cindy Herrman, Dana and Patty Hlavac, Rory and Cori Barnes, Jeff and Kelly Wright; cousins Dax, Jory, Brody, Jace, Garrett, Tricia, Rachelle, Azure, Jamill, Ryker, Brittany, Rori, Emily, Cade, Jack, David, Kelly, Ryan, Heather, Kelsie, Matt, Jake, Baylee, Amy, Daryl, Tony, Hannah and Brittany.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Earl D. Gunderson, Marvin and Wyola Herrman, Rex Tryon and cousin Braydon Barnes.

Services took place Sept. 9.
