Lita Joan Eskridge Myers died Aug. 2, 2017.
Lita was born June 27 1930, in Dines to Clyde Martin Eskridge and Mahala LaVon Wright Eskridge and spent her childhood in Green River. A self-described "brat," Lita attended Lincoln High School, where she was frequently seen twirling her majorette's baton between classes, once even breaking a classroom window.
After graduation, Lita moved to Salt Lake City. It was while working as a cashier at Seaboard Finance that she was robbed and fell hard for the "dreamy" cop investigating the crime. Lita and her gorgeous cop, Ed Myers, married shortly thereafter and produced three practically perfect daughters: Ellen, Jo, and Karen.
After Ed's death in 1970, Lita began a banking career that took her from Walker Bank to Union Bank to Citibank, where she became one of the first female vice residents of banking operations in the state of Utah.
Lita will be remembered for her love of animals, her devotion to her family, her twisted sense of humor, and her adoration of the Utah Jazz.
Lita leaves behind one brother, Deen (Marilyn); her daughters, two sons-in-law: Dennis Dickinson and Daniel O'Connor; seven grandchildren, Adeia, Benjamin, Carly, Nick, Lucas, Jacob, and Katie; three great-grandchildren Malcolm, Payton, and Oliver. Cremation has taken place and at her request there will be no funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a no-kill animal shelter or the Special Olympics would be appreciated. Lita would also have loved to have everyone who could do so to adopt a homeless pet.
