Spring program takes place Friday

Members of the Sweetwater Board of Cooperative Educational Services After School String program will join Green River’s “Strings of Rath” string players and present a joint Spring String Ensemble Concert, Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Middle School Auditorium.

Members of the SBOCES Beginning strings classes will perform together: “Mozart Melody,” “Rolling Along,” “Hot Cross Buns,” “Ode To Joy,” “Lightly Row,” and “Frere Jacques.” 

Violinists for this group are Amy Maez, Breanna Quickenden, Clara Fenhaus, Cory Cordova, Nancy Normington, William Phelps, Heather Allison, Barbara Kendall, Breckyn Rasmussen, Rylee Phillips, Dalyn Harris, Ella Brewster, Camden Smith, Landon Smith, Presley Nacey, Kaliya Burnham, Travis Burnham, Cumorah Shuler, Vivian Sarabia-Pitones and Merely Hernandez.

Members of the SBOCES Intermediate strings class will perform: “Bingo,” “Long, Long Ago,” “Tallis Canon,” “Tekele Lomeria,” “Cripple Creek,” and “Rockin’ Strings.”  Performing will be Leena Owens, Chancy Lowinski, River Kirts, Sabien Maes, Savannah Cheney, Jeremiah Fennel, Cardon Burnham, Evelyn Wilkinson, Marcia Petersen and Sarah Wessel.

BOCES String players and students of Western Wyoming  Community College are taught by Marcia Petersen of Green River. Administering the SBOCES Strings program and teaching violin, viola, and cello students is Sarah Wessel. Private string students are taught by Kathy Rath in Green River.

Players from the “Strings of Rath” program will perform: “When Johnny Comes Marching Home,” “Scarborough Fair,” “Russian Folk Song,” and “Hungarian Dance No. 5.” Violin performers of that group are Lila May, Margee Matthews, Emma Baas, Allison Folks, Ellie Pacheco, Corinne Folks, Jamie Sprecher and Karis Sprecher. Cellists include Jennifer Boyle and Joanna Kloepper.

Advanced string players from the SBOCES program and “Strings of Rath” of Green River will perform “Sweet Betsy from Pike,” “La Raspa,” “Tarentella,” “Grand March,” “The Yankee Doodle Boy” and “Pachebel Canon.” They will be under the direction of Kathy Rath of Green River.

The Advanced Ensemble members include: Lila May, Margee Matthews, Emma Baas, Allison Folks, Ellie Pacheco, David Ross, Cori Folks, Jamie Sprecher, Karis Sprecher, Connie Johnson, Samuel Wilson, Ariel Stratton, Marcia Petersen, Jennifer Boyle, Joanna Kloepper, Parker Allen and Sarah Wessel.

Other members of the SBOCES After-School String program in violin and cello include:  Galilea Rodriguez, Kyra Schwartz, Richard Barnes, Xzander Schwartz, Kimberly Barnes, Kim Hopper, Brendon Blackwell, Allegra Romero, Makenna Christensen, Emiliano Gonzalez, Jamie Whiting, Josie Arrants, Salem Schweitzer, Louise Murley, Isaac Frandsen, Esther Bea, Cardon Burnham, Jasmine Martinez, Silvia Orellana, Zavie Babich, Evelyn Martinez, Leah Moser, Samantha Boren, Kennedy Nacey and Rachel Shuler.
