Woman accused of cutting ear

An Idaho woman is accused of slicing a man’s ear with a knife during an altercation in Green River over the weekend.

Lexie Coziah, 57, of Lewisville, Idaho, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault Saturday night. The charge carries a potential maximum prison sentence of 10 years, as well as a maximum fine of up to $10,000.

According to court documents, officers from the Green River Police Department were dispatched to 135 Fox Hills Drive for a subject removal call. Officers were told the woman at the residence had attempted to stab the person making the call, later identified as Robert Crowley, with a butcher’s knife.

After arriving, officers spoke with Crowley, who said he and Coziah were arguing and alleged she picked up a butcher’s knife from the kitchen and started to wave it around. After struggling with her, he claimed she cut the top portion of his left ear.

Coziah, when interviewed by police, said she and he were dating for about three months, having met on Facebook, and had come to Green River two days prior. She believed the two would be married and claimed Crowley had attempted to have sex with her, which she refused and said he had gotten upset with her. She said she had been in the upstairs bedroom of the home most of the day, saying she came downstairs prior to the officers’ arrival to smoke a cigarette.

She also said she wasn’t aware of why Crowley contacted the police.

Crowley showed officers the knife Coziah allegedly used, which had a small amount of blood on the tip of the blade.

Prior to her arrest, Coziah blew a .31 blood-alcohol concentration on an officer’s breath tester.
