Volleyball team gains experience at invite tourney

The Green River Lady Wolves Volleyball team returned from the Casper Invitational with a little more experience under their belt.

This past Friday and Saturday, the Lady Wolves played a few teams at the tournament.

According to the Wyoming High School Activities Association website, http://www.whsaa.org, on Friday the Lady Wolves once again took on Kelly Walsh, which is one of the toughest teams in the 4A division.

The Lady Wolves lost both their sets, 22-25, 18-25. On Friday, the Lady Wolves also played Hulett, winning both sets, 25-10, 25-15; and they lost two sets to Riverton, 25-24, 18-25, 4-15.

On Saturday, the Lady Wolves once again played Hulett; and won both sets 25-18, 25-15. They then played Cheyenne Central and lost two of the three sets, 25-23, 23-25, 6-15, the website states.

The team will continue to work on serve and receive passing for its upcoming away game against Evanston on Thursday and a home game with Laramie Saturday at 2 p.m.

The team remains 2-2 in conference play in the season.
