Jack (Jake) Berton Wininger

Jack (Jake) Berton Wininger, 27, of Rock Springs, passed away Aug. 21, 2016, in Jamestown. He was born Oct. 25, 1988, in Evanston, the son of Jack Wininger and Nita Lewis. He graduated Mountain View High School in 2007, where he was a member of track, football, and basketball teams. He attended college at the Laramie County Community College in Laramie, Wyoming where he earned an associate degree in physical education. He also attended Western Wyoming Community College and earned an industrial maintenance degree. He was employed by Church and Dwight in Green River.

Jake is survived by his parents Jack Wininger of Lyman and Nita and Rob Lewis of Green River. He is also survived by four brothers, Joe Wininger of Green River, James Wininger of Lake Benton, Minn., Justin Wininger of Independence, Ken., Robert (Bobby) Lewis of Green River; four sisters, Stacey Henrich of Greenfield, Minn., Samantha Earley of Tea, S.D., Kayla Schwartz of Montrose, Minn., and Kayla M. Lewis of Green River. Jake also leaves behind his maternal grandparents Fred and Lois Harvey and Patty Harvey; paternal grandmothers, Marie Wininger and Karen Lewis, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves a boat load of close friends and his loyal dog, Champ Bailey. 

Jake's ability to light up a room with his contagious smile and infectious laughter will be missed by all that knew him. He never met a stranger and never left someone without a smile on their face.

Following cremation, a celebration of live took place Aug. 27.
