Joyce Macy

Joyce Macy, 75, of Rock Springs, passed away Aug. 10, 2016 at her home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Macy died following a sudden illness. 

She was born on Nov. 13, 1940 in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Henry B. and Dorothy E. Sullivan. 

Macy attended schools in Rawlins and was a 1958 graduate of the Rawlins High School. 

She married Robert Warrington Macy II at the First United Methodist Church on Oct. 9, 1970. 

Macy was employed at Wyo Radio for eight years as a clerk. 

Her interests included crafts, reading, spending time with her family and she was a people person who never knew a stranger. 

Survivors include five daughters, Tammy Moyer of Rock Springs, Linda Gustafson and husband Carl of El Cajon, Calif., Tena Macy, Rhonda Friel and husband Brian, and Shawnda Macy and companion Mike Moeller, all of Rock Springs; one sister, Sharon Sullivan of Medicine Bow; sons, Keith Macy and wife Glenda and Kent Macy, all of Rock Springs; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert W. Macy II; one grandson, Levi Zanetti; one son, Chris Macy; and a brother who died at birth. 

A celebration of life took place Tuesday.
