Cheryl Lea Gillmore

Cheryl Lea Gillmore, 58, died peacefully in her sleep July 13, 2016 in her home in Green River. She was born the third of three children on Sept. 12, 1957 in Denver to Robert Olen Fling and Geraldine Ray (Fling) Nelson. She lived most of her life in Colorado and had just recently moved from Phippsburg, Colo. to Green River to live with her aunt and uncle.

She met the love of her life, Andy Frank Gillmore, and they were married on Dec. 29, 1993 in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Her husband died in a one-vehicle rollover Sept. 23, 2013.

She and her husband, were always together with their family of cats and they enjoyed being with their many friends, riding snowmobiles, skiing, gambling, bowling, camping and listening to music. Prior to moving to Wyoming, she worked as a maid service supervisor at the Ptarmigan Inn in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Upon moving to Wyoming, Cheryl enjoyed talking daily with her sister, visiting with friends, playing computer games, being on Facebook and shopping. She was a member of the Sweetwater Eagles Auxiliary No. 2350 and volunteered to serve breakfast and dinners at fund raisers for charity.

She completed a course with the American Traffic Safety Service Association in April 2016 to become a registered flagger. At the time of her death she worked in maid service at the Oak Tree Inn.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Andy; her father Robert Olen Fling; her mother Geraldine Ray "Sis" Nelson; her brother Robert Olen Fling Jr.; maternal grandparents Raymon A. and Bertha M. Carden; and paternal grandparents George O. and Emma Fling.

She is survived by her son Brian Lee Dale (Jessica); daughter Valerie Lea Kauffman (Richard); sister Cynthia Kay Molk; grandchildren Dustin James Kauffman, Cody Steven Kauffman, Hunter James Dale, Kiana Shea Dale, Landen Dale and Kayla Dale; uncles Donald Carden (Jackie) and Ronald Carden (Nancy); aunts Dorothy Stone and Charlotte Copeland (Jerry); nephews Jeremy Jay Quintana and Robert Olen Fling III; special niece, Forest Nicole Gillmore and mother-in-law Angie Gillmore.

Cremation and memorial services will be held at a later date in Colorado.
