After winning the Roy Peck Memorial Tournament in Riverton the previous weekend, the Green River Knights were ready for action at the Sand Puppy American Legion Tournament last weekend in Rock Springs.
Despite being short three regulars, two to illness and one playing in the Wyoming Shrine Bowl Game, Green River started tournament play with a strong performance, beating the host team Archie Hay Post No. 24 11-4. Saturday evening the Knights played the team coach Stub Hatfield called the Knights’ nemesis, losing to Jackson 8-4. It was the Knights’ third loss to Jackson this season.
