Barta Gay Andrews

Barta Gay Andrews, 79, passed away Friday March 25 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 23 1936 in Manilla, Utah daughter of Charles and Wanda Greenhalgh Potter. She was raised and educated in Green River.

On Feb. 1, 1957, she married Wayne Edward Andrews in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Following her marriage to Wayne they lived in several locations, including Rapid City, S.D. and Santa Maria, Calif., after which they moved to North Ogden, Utah, where they lived from 1971 until the time of her death.

Andrews was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in numerous callings.

She was a dedicated season ticket holder of Weber State University Men's Basketball. She was also a dedicated volunteer at the McKay Dee Hospital, where she spent her Fridays for the last 35 years; as well as being employed at Weber State University book store.

In spite of her busy schedule she always had time for her family and friends. Barta was an avid bowler. She loved to build puzzles, crochet, collect nativities, and her all-time favorite thing, OWLS. Barta also loved camping with her family. She has traveled from one end of the globe to the other.

Surviving are her children, David Andrews of Ogden, Utah; Toni (Steven) Schlange of North Ogden, Utah; Traci (Eric) White of Far West; seven grandchildren, Jonathon, Shasta, Sharee, Chaz, Mason, Hudson, Aspen; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister of Green River, Ted (Sharon) Potter, Tim (Mary) Potter, and Patsy Lowseth.

Preceding Barta in death was her husband Wayne Edward Andrews; parents, Charles and Wanda Potter; brothers, Tommy, and Blaine Potter as well as one son, Carey Neal Andrews; and one grandson, DC Andrews

Funeral services took place Tuesday.
