Edward "Bert" Lucero Sr.

Edward "Bert" Lucero Sr., 67, of Green River died Feb. 19, 2016, at the William Christoffersen Veterans Home in Salt Lake City. He died following a two-month illness.

Lucero was born Sept. 19, 1948, in Green River, the son of Jose C. Lucero and Eufelia Cordova. He was a 1969 graduate of Green River High School.

Lucero was a Vietnam veteran, serving from Jan. 23, 1969, to Feb. 25, 1971, as a convoy and base medic. He then worked for Allied Chemical in the maintenance machine shop for 34 years. His interests included hunting, camping, rock hunting with his longtime companion Linda Gehrke, fishing, watching television and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one son, Edward Bert Lucero Jr., of Rock Springs; one daughter, Natalie Lucero of Green River; three brothers, Gibby Lucero and wife Lily, of Green River, Jo Jo Lucero and wife Sue of Tularosa, N.M., and Michael Lucero, of Green River; four sisters, Lillian Trujillo and husband Tony, of Rock Springs, Jane Seelen and husband Tom, of Green River, Eva Bluemel and husband Dick, of Lyman and Lorraine Thaler and husband Pat, of Green River; one grandchild, Luxxus Lucero and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his companion Linda Gehrke and his parents Jose Lucero and Eufelia Lucero.

Following cremation, services will take place at the Green River Assembly of God, April 1 at 11 a.m.

Following graveside services at Riverview Cemetery, a lunch will take place at the Hampton Inn.
