Have a program assisted

Give the next project or business a boost with the Green River Community Chest.

The Green River Community Chest, a nonprofit 501 (C) 3 organization, has been in existence since 2007.

The Community Chest is a totally autonomous entity formed for the purpose of aiding entities such as the Green River Art’s Council, the Sweetwater Mountain Bike Association, the Green River Chamber of Commerce, Green River URA/Main Street Agency and other charitable organizations that are not 501 (C) 3, but fit the criteria in education, for public good, youth activities and other art programs.

The Community Chest is comprised of a small group of volunteers Angela Shutran, Karen Marty, Brian Taylor, Rebecca Eusek and Dell Brady.

Since its inception, the Community Chest has been able to assist many programs including the addition of the newest sculpture located at the Green River Visitor Center entitled “Shift Change.” The Community Chest also assisted in the acquisition of the new state of the art digital sign that the chamber of commerce recently had installed, an $80,000 project. Without the Community Chest’s assistance, these projects would not have been successful.

The board is currently looking for new projects that fit inside the criteria of the Community Chest which includes education, for public good, youth activities, and other art programs. The board wants to increase awareness of the Community

Chest and make sure people and businesses are aware of this resource.

The Community Chest can assist an entity by tapping into resources that might not have considered. Those who think their entity might qualify, please contact board member Rebecca Eusek at 307-875-5711. The board wants to continue to grow and expand the community chest by adding more programs to benefit the entire community. All donations to the community chest are tax deductible.
