Margaret J. Gillespie

Margaret J. Gillespie, 86, of Rock Springs passed away Feb. 1, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.  A long time resident of Rock Springs, Mrs. Gillespie died following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Feb. 20, 1929 at the family ranch at Big Sandy, the daughter of Paul Zembo and Kathryn Benko Zembo.

Gillespie attended and graduated from the Rock Springs High School.

She married Lawrence Charles Gillespie in Rock Springs Dec. 28, 1947 and he preceded her in death Oct. 17, 1976.

Gillespie was employed as a receptionist for many years for various doctors' offices throughout Rock Springs.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

Her interests included gardening, reading, walking her dog and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son Charles Gillespie and wife Carol of Rock Springs; daughter Jonnie Lee Kloss; grandchildren Darcie Vukovich of New York, Joe Gillespie and companion Julie Moran of Walcott, Colo., Amy Santa and husband Brent of Rock Springs, Jenny Botkin and husband Vance of Rock Springs; great-grandchildren Brody Santa, Hadley Santa, Halle Botkin and Hunter Botkin; niece Patricia Thomas of Rock Springs, and nephews Leo Kozola and wife Mary and Ken Kozola and wife Pam, all of Casper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence; five brothers George, Paul, John and twin brothers at birth; as well as three sisters Anna Radosevich, Kathryn Kozola and Elsie Wilde.

Cremation will take place and memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, at Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street in Rock Springs. Inurnment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.  Friends may call at Vase Chapel one hour prior to services.
