Gage Byers, a 120 lb. wrestler, competes at the Tournament of Champions in Vernal, Utah over the weekend. The wrestlers will compete locally in the Thoman tournament at Green River High School.
The Green River High School wrestling team will host The Thoman Invitational this weekend, Jan. 15-16. The tournament will start Friday at 11 a.m., at the high school. There will be 14 teams competing at the tournament including teams from Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Nebraska. Each team will dual eight times throughout the two days.
"There will be a handful of good teams that will be able to compete for the championship," head coach Marshall Rhodes said. "We need to have a good week of practice so we can compete better than we did last weekend."
