Robert Tatman

Robert Tatman, 85, of Rock Springs, passed away Jan. 3, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, Tatman died following a three-year illness.  

He was born on Oct. 28, 1930 in Rock Springs, the son of the late Frank William and Mary Elizabeth Pitt Tatman

Tatman attended schools in Rock Springs.

He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran during peacetime.

Tatman was employed at FMC as an electrician for 40 years and retired in 1992.

He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 13124.

His interests included spending summers at his home he built in Pinedale. He enjoyed time with his family, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, family barbecues and loved to socialize with his friends.

Survivors include his brother Charles Tatman and wife Mary of Lakewood, Colo .; sister Margaret Irene Bolt of Arkadelphia, Ark .; several nieces and nephews including Jeannette Smith and husband Patt of Colorado, Cheryl Kelly of Arkansas, Jimmy and Cindy Bolt of Arkansas, Jeremy Bolt, Matthew Bolt, Chris Bolt, Jesse Kelly, Michael Kelly, all of Arkansas, Callen Smith, and Kendall Smith both of Colorado, Bernie Keslar and husband Matt and Bob VanValkenburg all of Rock Springs; and his many friends from FMC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother William Frank Tatman, nephew Justin Kelly and best friend Robert "Skip" VanValkenburg.

Cremation will take place and services will take place at a later date.

The family of Robert Tatman respectfully suggests that donations in his memory be made to Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital, Fairfax Avenue and Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84103.
