Green River seniors can learn how to live with diabetes

Living with diabetes can be hard, and if left unmanaged, diabetes can lead to other health problems.

Those who would like to learn about controlling their diabetes, staying healthy and enjoying a full life with loved ones will not want to miss several upcoming peer-led educational programs.

Diabetes Empowerment Education Program is hosting informational classes at the Golden Hour Senior Center every Thursday until Feb. 11. These classes will start tomorrow; and meet every week from 12:30-2:30 p.m.

In these free classes, residents will learn how to improve their quality of life, prevent serious complications and illnesses, improve eating habits, increase physical activity, develop skills to take care of themselves, improve relationships with their health care providers and use the community resources available.

Those who have questions about the program can contact the center at (307) 872-3223. Please RSVP.

A pre-registration packet is available at the center.
