Man faces 340 years in prison

A man accused of raping a 15-year-old girl more than once, pleaded not guilty to eight felony charges.

TJ Luna, 32, Green River, appeared in the Third District Court of Judge Nena James at an arraignment to six counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

If found guilty of all eight counts, Luna could face a maximum sentence of 340 years of prison and a maximum fine of $80,000 in fines. A jury trial has been scheduled to take place Feb. 1, 2016, at 9 a.m.

According to court documents, on Oct. 5, 2015, a Green River Police officer spoke to a 15-year-old girl who reported that she had allegedly been raped by Luna.

The girl told officers, Luna allegedly raped her a few times over a five-month period.

After the girl was interviewed, Luna was interviewed by a police officer.

Documents state, that at first Luna only admitted to having sexual intercourse with the girl once, but then he later admitted to a total of three times.

Luna also told the officers that it was a mistake and he knew what he was doing was wrong.
