Swimmers head to state

The Green River High School Girls Swimming and Diving Team has their eyes set on the state competition in Gillette, after winning the last chance meet in Rock Springs Thursday.

The team will send eight swimmers to the competition Friday and Saturday. Those going to Gillette are Avery Otto-Horn, Brianna Rath, Dakota Newmann, Emilee Mandros, Jarin Mandros, Shyana Hunt, McKell Lyon and Ashely Jensen.

“We’re all excited and ready to go,” head coach Colleen Seiloff said.

Going into the final week of practices, Seiloff said she is cutting down the number of yards the girls are swimming, but working to fine tune their technique.

She said the girls have stayed focused and are working hard.

She also said they’re paying attention to the details during their practices, which she said will help them at the state competition.

Seiloff said she expects the competition to be fun event between the eastern and western high schools.

“It’s been a great season and a great group of girls,” Seiloff said.
