Wolves victorious over Cody

Wolves trump Broncs, 21-13

The wolves kicked off the football game against the Cody Broncs with a touchdown in the first quarter with 7:17 left in the quarter. This would earn them six points, and the PAT was successful, taking the score to 7-0.

Soon after the wolves' touchdown, Candon Croft made a first down with 28 yards, to the 33 yard line. Soon after, Tyler Vendetti took them another 32 yards.

Tyler Vendetti then made the Wolves' second touchdown with five seconds left in the first quarter, bumping their score up to 13, and with a successful kick afterwards, taking the scores to 14-0.

Green River started the third quarter after halftime with a kickoff to Cody.

Broncs took the ball making two attempts for a down, but were hit hard by the wolves every time. Back and forth action between the Wolves and Broncs in the third quarter brought Cody out of their slumber and into the game full force.

Broncs make a touchdown in the third quarter, missing the PAT and taking the score to 14-6.

The Broncs had the ball, but not for long, when Green River sophomore Chance Anderson intercepted the ball.

The Wolves make it to third down and 10 yards.

Vendetti runs the ball, making a 30 yard play for the Wolves.

At the one yard line, Vendetti makes another touchdown, taking the score to 20-6.

Green River is now 21-6, with two minutes left in the third quarter.

The last two minutes of the third quarter are heated, both teams struggling to keep the ball.

The fourth quarter starts, score still at 21-6. Fourth quarter starts with a Green River kickoff to the 30 yard line, a 57.3 yard punt.

A touchdown is made by the Broncs in the fourth quarter, the score moved to 21-12, with the point after successful, bumping the score up to 21-13, making the score a little worrisome for the Wolves.

The Broncs take the ball to the 40 yard line, but is intercepted by Green River's Cole White at the 30 yard line with 2:50 left on the clock.

The ball goes back to Cody, but yet another interception is made on the Green River side by Jake Olsen with 53 seconds left on the clock.

The game ends with the final score of 21-13.

"By winning this game, we've put ourselves in a chance to play at the playoffs," coach Don Maggi said. "Cody plays a tough match ... we matched them when we needed to. They are a big physical team and the kids did a good job against them."
