William G. "Bill" Riley

William G. "Bill" Riley, 78, of Rock Springs, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at his home.

A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Riley died following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Miles City, Mont., Sept. 24, 1937, the son of the late William L. and Virginia Riley.

Riley attended schools in Belle Fourche, S.D., and Casper. He was a 1954 graduate of Casper Natrona High School. Following high school, he attended the Casper College.

He married the former Maggie Henry in Glenrock May 19, 1961.

Riley was a United States Navy Veteran who served with Unites States Atlantic Fleet.

He was employed at Pacific Corp. for 40 years and retired as a shift supervisor in 1987.

Golfing was his passion and he hit a hole in one. He had many interests including, attending his grandchildren's sporting events in soccer, basketball and football.

He also enjoyed bowling, working crossword puzzles, playing cribbage and spending time with family and friends.

He loved music and playing the guitar.

Riley was an accomplished dancer and was a platinum dancer for Arthur Murray Dance Studios.

He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community and Lion's Club.

Survivors include his wife Maggie Riley of Rock Springs; one son Shannon Riley and wife Colette of Rock Springs; one daughter Kelly Palmer of Green River; four sisters Sharron Heenan of Tennessee, Hope Barnes of California, Cara Gleason of Arizona and Jolynn Olds of California; four grandchildren Kasey Riley, Cooper Palmer, Chase Riley and Alex Palmer; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law Glen Henry.

Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs, Wy. Graveside Services and Inurnment were in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery Columbarium.

Friends may call at the church, one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
