Police Reports

The Green River Police Department responded to the following calls for service during the last week:

Officers removed a deceased cat from the roadway on Apache Avenue.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel on a medical call at an undisclosed address.

Animal control officers met an individual at the animal shelter who was there to pick up their pet.

Animal control officers responded to an address on Cedar Street for a cat in a trap.

Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at 400 Uinta Drive involving juveniles on Sept. 30. Officers contacted the reporting party and completed a report regarding the incident.

Animal control officers are investigating a report of a dog that was attacked by another dog Iowa Circle.

Officers tagged a vehicle, following a complaint of a vehicle parked in a parking lot at 270 E. Flaming Gorge Way for two weeks.

VIN checks were conducted at the Green River Police Department throughout the week.

Officers responded to disturbance on Cumorah Way in regards to individuals yelling. Officers contacted the involved parties who had a verbal dispute.

Officers contacted an individual who found four gas cans on Scotts Bottom Road. The items were taken to the police department as found property.

Officers issued a traffic warning during a stop on North Riverbend Drive.

Officers responded to a report of a young child left unattended in a vehicle at an undisclosed address. The reporting party stated the vehicle left prior to officers arrival.

Officers responded to a follow up at 905 Bridger Drive, regarding a violation of a court order.

Officers responded to a request for a subject removal on Andrews Street. Officers contacted the reporting party who advised the individual left prior to the officers’ arrival.

Officers contacted an individual who reported receiving harassing phone messages. Officers contacted the involved parties who had a verbal dispute regarding a civil matter.

Brandon Swensen, 34, of Green River, was arrested for alleged strangulation of a household member.

Jacob Kunkle, 35, of Green River, was arrested per an active Sweetwater County warrant for alleged failure to appear on an original charge of unlawful contact, recklessly causing bodily injury.

Officers contacted two individuals, at 41 E. Railroad Ave., that were having a verbal dispute.

Officers checked on an open door on an unattended vehicle on West Teton Boulevard. The vehicle appeared OK, door was secured and officers attempted to contact the owner of the vehicle.

Officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Oregon Circle, which reportedly parked in a driveway and then left when they saw the reporting party. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle on Uinta Drive described as driving erratically.

Animal control officer met with an individual who found a black lab found on the Greenbelt. The dog was taken to the animal shelter.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at 1380 Hitching Post Drive with one occupant.

Officers were dispatched to an alarm at an undisclosed address. Upon arrival, officers contacted an employee who advised the alarm was accidental and was being worked on.

Animal control officers received a complaint referencing two dogs at large chasing kids at a park on Montana Way.

Officers responded to a request for a civil standby on South 5th West Street.

Animal control officers taught an educational class for students at 1825 Alabama Drive.

Officers issued a traffic warning for speeding on Roosevelt Drive.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a young child playing unattended at a playground. Officers contacted the child, who was OK, and the child was returned a parent.

The parent stated the child had been at the playground with a sibling. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers responded to a report of an assault on West Teton Boulevard.

Officers contacted the involved parties who had an altercation and neither wanted to pursue charges. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers responded to a request for a civil standby on North 7th West Street.

Officers responded to a report of an unattended death at an undisclosed address.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that struck a guard rail on South 7th West Street.

Dustin Murphy, 20, of Green River, was arrested for alleged driving while under the influence.

Officers met with an individual at the police department for an agency assist.

Animal control officers picked up a skunk caught in a trap on Faith Drive.

Officers contacted a resident who stated they received a phone call from an individual claiming they took fuel without paying for it.

The reporting party had not gotten fuel and the call appeared to be a prank call.

Officers met with an individual who reported having a domestic dispute the previous night. Officers contacted the involved parties and completed a report regarding the incident, which was forwarded to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office.

Animal control officers met an individual at the animal shelter for a pet adoption.

Officers contacted an individual by phone who had questions about a civil matter.

Officers responded to a residence for a found and contained dog on Wilderness Trail. Officers picked up the dog, a great dane, and took it to the animal shelter.

Officers checked on a vehicle on Flaming Gorge Way which appeared to have been in an accident.

Officers contacted the owner of the vehicle, who advised the individual who hit their vehicle contacted them and provided them with their insurance information.

Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot at 699 Uinta Drive. Officers contacted the individual who advised they were homeless and needed directions to a church.

Officers contacted an individual on North 1st West Street, in reference to a civil dispute.

Officers met with an individual who reported losing their cell phone in Evanston.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) report, that exited into Green River from Interstate 80.

Officers responded to a request for a civil standby on Collier Circle.

Officers responded to a report of juveniles knocking trash cans over at an undisclosed park.

Officers issued a traffic warning for speeding on Evans Street.

Officers received a call regarding juveniles lighting off fireworks in the area around East 2nd North Street.

Officers contacted an individual by telephone, in reference to a suspicious vehicle report.

Officers responded to a report of a larceny on Uinta Drive. Officers contacted the reporting party regarding a civil dispute over property.

Chad Doak, 24, of Green River, was arrested on a District Court warrant for alleged failure to appear for a child support hearing, and a Green River Municipal Court warrant for alleged failure to appear for a probation revocation hearing on original charges of driving while under suspension, underage consumption and hit and run, unattended property.

Officers responded to a report of a violation of a court order at an undisclosed address. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers contacted an individual outside a closed building on Monroe Avenue. The individual advised they were walking home.

Officers checked on an unsecured property, everything appeared OK and a responsible party for the property was contacted.

Animal control officers met an individual at the animal shelter who wanted to pick up their dog.

Officers responded to a request for a civil standby on South Wagonwheel Drive.

Officers and Green River Fire Department were dispatched to a fire alarm 1615 Hitching Post Drive. The property was checked and appeared OK.

Officers contacted a resident who wanted a trespass warning issued to individuals for their property on East Teton Boulevard.

Officers checked the area for the individuals who left the property prior to the officers’ arrival.

Officers were dispatched to a noise complaint of possible gun shots in the area around East 3rd North Street.

Officers checked the area and located juveniles who were lighting fireworks. The juveniles were given a warning.

Officers responded to a report of a possible hit-and-run vehicle collision at 905 Bridger Drive. Upon further, investigation it was determined the call was unfounded.

Officers contacted an individual by phone who had questions, in regards to receiving a threatening text message.

Officers met with an individual who found a bicycle on Montana Way.

Officers contacted the owner of the bicycle out of state, who knew the bicycle was missing but had not yet reported it to police.

Officers completed a report regarding the incident which is under investigation.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle on Uinta Drive described in a traffic complaint of passing a vehicle on the left.

Officers issued a traffic warning regarding a registration violation on East Flaming Gorge Way.
