Clark P. Stafford

Clark P. Stafford, 71, of Rock Springs, passed away June 5, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Clark died following battle with cancer. 

He was born on Jan. 14, 1944 in Cody, the son of Cecil Stafford and Alice Genter Stafford.

Stafford attended and graduated from the Cody High School and later attended the University of Wyoming.

He married Barbara Hodges in Rock Springs on Feb. 26, 1977.

Clark was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was the owner and operator of Stafford Backhoe Service from 1978 to his death.

If not working which was his joy, then team roping and golfing was his passion. He loved spending time with his family in Boulder.

Survivors include his former wife Barbara Hodges of Boulder; two daughters, Jodie Stafford Hawkins and husband Jason of Marbleton and Cynthia Richmond of Norman, Okla.; one son, Jake C. Stafford of Casper; two sisters, Betty Heuermann of Riverton and Virginia "Teenie" Bell of Lochbuie, Colo.; one granddaughter Molly Clarke Hawkins of Marbleton; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Alice Jones and Nancy Shaw.

Following cremation, a celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. June 27 at White Mountain Mining Company, 76 Gookin Road in Rock Springs.
